Post Meeting

Best meeting ever!  I think can everyone can agree on that.

Before Rick Riordan arrived, we got to the meeting site early to clean everything up and decorate. We even made a special Rick Riordan chair.  We bought some pizzas and the members brought desserts, and one member was in charge of drinks.

Finally, the great Rick Riordan arrived, but a couple of minutes late.  He had gotten lost on the way there, which is not surprising because Snowplow Road is in the middle of nowhere.

As a great a surprise to us, he brought a preview chapter of his next book, "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Sword of Summer," and read it aloud to us.  It was completely awesome.  Now I REALLY can't wait for it to come out.  Rick Riordan stayed  at the meeting for a good two hours before he had to move on to another engagement.  It was amazing for him to come to our book club.  How will we ever be able to top this?

Guess What!

OMG!  OMG!!
Rick is coming to our meeting!!!!
I'm serious!

Last night, I was checking my email, and I saw that Rick Riordan sent me an email,  I fainted for a couple of minutes and then read it.  He said that he saw our website and was impressed with it and decided that he would like to come to one of our meetings.  I replied and said that all of us would be delighted for him to come. I left him my phone number so he could contact me for details.

Low and behold, he called the next morning and asked when and where the meeting was.  I talked to the great Rick Riordan myself!!!!

So, in other words, FAN PARTY!  Don't miss this once in a lifetime chance to meet your favorite author. Come to the meeting and bring your books and anything else for him to sign.  Don't forget your camera.

New Club!

Welcome to the Butler Chapter of the Rick Riordan Fan Club

Rick Riordan is the author of the Kane Chronicles, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and the Heroes of Olympus books.  He has a new series coming soon about Norse mythology.  His books are awesome, some of the best books I've ever read.  In fact, I have re-read each of his novels at least once.  Rick has a good sense of humor in his books.  He sometimes jokes in the prefaces of his novels.

Want to learn more about him?

Come to our meetings!

Our club meets in the old dangerous metals factory on Snowplow Road in Butler every other Tuesday at 6:30 pm.  Bring your favorite snack to share.

Note:  This is not actually a club in Butler.  This blog is for my son's Boy Scout Communication merit badge.
